Study of the Vernier Effect Based on the Fabry–Perot Interferometer: Methodology and Application

The optical Vernier effect is a powerful tool for improving the sensitivity of an sensor, which relies on use two sensor units with slightly detuned frequencies. However, improper amount detuning can easily cause to be unusable. In this work, effective generation range and corresponding interferometer configuration are suggested experimentally demonstrated through tunable cascaded Fabry–Perot structure. We further demonstrate practical method increase magnification factor based device bandwidth. Only path length probe measurement parameters needed design effect. Our results provide potential insights sensing applications
